  • Full Time Continuing Appointment
The School of Civil, Mining and Environmental Engineering is one of three schools within the Faculty of Engineering. Currently we have over 400 undergraduate students enrolled with excellent graduate outcomes. We have an outstanding record of research achievements with over 50 full-time PhD students, largely supported by significant grants from the Australian Research Council, Cooperative Research Centre for Railways, Australian Coal Association Research Program and other industry funding.
Our key Geotechnical Engineering research strengths are in the areas of soft soil engineering, ground improvement, transportation geomechanics, numerical modelling of geotechnical processes, granular media mechanics, landslides analysis and dam engineering.  This position will contribute to the teaching and research excellence of the School in the promotion of geotechnical engineering discipline. The research is underpinned by state of the art experimental and computing facilities and highly competent technical staff.
We are seeking to appoint a dynamic, self-motivated and well qualified candidate (PhD in geotechnical engineering) at Lecturer level to provide leadership in her/his specific research area. The successful candidate will contribute to our school curriculum and have a proven research track record in any of the above mentioned or complimentary research areas. She/he is expected to have a demonstrated track record in scholarly journal publications and potential for securing nationally competitive research grants.
