The Secretary to the Govt. of India, Ministry of Agriculture, Department of Animal Husbandry, Dairying and Fisheries, Krishi Bhavan, New Delhi, invites applications to fill up one post of Director (Engg.) (General Central ServiceNon-Ministerial- Group ‘A’ Gazetted) in the Pay Band (PB-3) of Rs.15600- 39100 + GP of Rs.7600/- (Pre revised pay scale of Rs.12000-16500) in Fishery Survey of India, Mumbai by transfer on deputation (including short term contract) basis from the Officers under the Central or State Govts or Union Territories or Autonomous Organizations or Recognised ResearchInstitutions or Councils.

a) i) holding analogous post on regular basis in the parent cadre/Department
O R
ii) with 05 years service in the grade rendered after appointment thereto on a regular basis in the scale of pay of Rs.10,000-15200 (pre-revised) or equivalent in the parent cadre/Department. and
b) possessing the following educational qualifications and experience:

ESSENTIAL
i) Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Marine Engineering from a recognized
University or equivalent.
ii) Ten years experience in repairs and maintenance of ocean going vessels and their machinery and  equipments.

DESIRABLE
Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Marine Engineering from a recognized University or equivalent.
The Duties and Responsibilities in brief:
Responsible to oversee the maintenance and repair works of all the survey vessels, rendering assistance to the Dy. Director General (Engg.) in planning, scheduling/re-scheduling of periodical under water repairs, etc. and in all the engineering matters of the Institution. Responsible for fulfillment of all statutory requirements such as LSA/FFA Survey, Registration of vessels, etc. and supervision of the overall Inventory control of spares, tools, equipment etc., and their timely procurement, proper storage and accounting. Responsible to ensure the proper functioning of the departmental workshops for their optimum utilization.

The period of deputation (including short-term contract), including period of deputation (including short-term contract) in another ex-cadre post held immediately preceding this appointment in the same or some other Organization/Department of the Central Government shall ordinarily not to exceed four years. The maximum age limit for appointment by deputation (including shortterm contract) shall be not exceeding 56 years as on the closing date for receipt of applications. The period of deputation (ISTC) will be initially for one year, but extendable as per the requirement.

Road, Fort, Mumbai 400001 .The concerned Ministry/ Departments/ Competent authority may ensure despatch of the complete and up-to-date C.R. Dossiers of the Applicant(s) Vigilance Clearance Cer t i f icate and major /minor  penal ty statement ,   i f  any,   imposed on  the Applicant(s) during the last ten years, along with the Application (s). The applications should reach the Director General, Fishery Survey of India, Botawala Chambers, Sir P.M. Road, Mumbai- 400001 within 60 days, through proper channel. Applications received after due date or without the ACRs or otherwise found incomplete will not be considered.
